Duties include:
- Development, promotion, and delivery of local watershed programs, projects, and initiatives within the provision of the Watershed Districts Act
- Preparation of external grant funding proposals and annual program budgets
- Provide technical and professional advice to the Board, participating municipalities and landowners on soil and watershed programming
- Develop and maintain cooperative relations with the public, stakeholder organizations and all levels of government.
- Coordination, development, and implementation of surface water management plans.
- Development and implementation of surface water management planning initiatives and projects.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from a recognized program with a degree/diploma in natural resource management, agriculture, environmental studies/science, environmental engineering, and/or experience in land and watershed programming
- Strong communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer skills with ability to use various Microsoft office packages
- Experience working with/in; non-profit organizations, municipal governments, and provincial governments
- Strong time-management and organizational skills
Assets:
- Knowledge and experience in agricultural practices
- Experience using GIS software
- Knowledge of beneficial management practices and general resource management planning would be an asset
